Please do plan your route and give yourself some extra time to get to your volunteer location, Blenheim Palace is situated in the picturesque and historic town of Woodstock, 8 miles northwest of Oxford on the A44 Evesham Road and approximately a one-hour drive from the outskirts of both London and Birmingham.

  • If you are planning to cycle, you can leave your bike beside the volunteer and staff check in.  

    Please note that bikes will be left at the owner’s risk. To secure your bike to the racking, please bring an appropriate cable or chain lock.  

  • Approaching Oxford on the M40, exit at junction 9 and follow signs to Blenheim. From other directions take the A44 exit from the Oxford by-pass. There are car parking facilities for cars and coaches, car parking is free for competitors, volunteers, and staff. You must show your vehicle access pass clearly in your vehicle on arrival.  

  • There are frequent train services to the nearby train stations of Oxford, Oxford Parkway and Hanborough.  

    • Travel from London Marylebone by Chiltern Trains to Oxford Parkway (then connect to Blenheim by Bus 7). This is the quickest route from London to Blenheim.  

    • Travel from London Paddington or Reading by GWR to Oxford (then connect to Blenheim by Bus S3).  

    • Travel by GWR from London Paddington, Reading, or Worcester to Hanborough (then connect to Blenheim by Bus 233).  

    • There is a bus stop right outside the entrance to Blenheim Palace.
